At easter time it is all about the chocolate….I can’t tell you how much I love chocolate. If there was one thing I had to eat for the rest of my life, it would probably be chocolate. Anyway, that’s another story entirely! Bringing me back to what I am sharing with you today, easter chocolate bark! I first discovered ‘bark’ a few years back when my sister’s mother in law gave us a tin of peppermint bark for Christmas. From then on I was totally in love with it. Last year my sister and I made easter bark, and that was brilliant. So this year I decided to make it again (and bigger this time, it didn’t last nearly long enough!).
I think it looks brilliant, and is a great idea for an easter gift! I think it is usually made with dark chocolate so here is the recipe (it’s blooming easy, if you can melt chocolate you can make this!). You could definitely adapt it for different seasons as well. Using crushed candy canes and festive colours at Christmas, or at Halloween you could used oranges and greens with some skull chocolates scattered across it.
Ingredients
400g milk chocolate
200g white chocolate
3 x food colouring of your choice (I used gels as they are a bit easier to mix in)

Recipe
- Melt chocolate in two separate bowls. I do this over a pan of boiling water.
- Divide the chocolate into 4 small bowls (one bowl per colour)
- Put the food colouring in each bowl and mix thoroughly, leaving one white
- Spoon the milk chocolate onto a piece of baking paper (I put it in a square tin) and spread in a thick, even layer.
- Blob each colour of the white chocolate on to the milk chocolate.
- Get a cocktail stick and drag it through the chocolate to make swirls and patterns.
- Sprinkle with mini eggs.
- Leave to cool and then place in the fridge to set.
