Buying Baby Boys Clothes

Buying Baby Boys Clothes

When I found out I was having a boy, I was worried what I would dress him in.  It’s a well known fact that the boyswear section is always so much smaller than the girls in all of the high street stores.  In most stores I really hated the boys clothes, that or they were too grown up for a baby.  I just wanted some nice plain, non garish clothes.

When Oliver was a newborn I dressed him in a lot of sleepsuits, lots of white and pale blue was worn.  I loved it because he looked so fresh and clean.  The perfect newborn!  I found the best places to get sleepsuits were Next, Sainsbury’s Tu collection and JoJo Maman Bebe. They were all by far the softest, cosiest sleepsuits and they had the best designs for boys.

I had been aware of JoJo Maman Bebe before Oliver was born because I had been given some bits in bigger sizes.  I visited their store and I loved everything they had for boys.  Their designs are all adorable and perfect for a young boy.  It’s not too grown up and everything is colourful but not garishly so.  Oliver now has a few bits from their collection, various tops, vests and dungarees.  They are great quality, wash well and look so cute on!  I am currently loving their leggings and top combos, they’re all so adorable.

I also like Gap for their boys section.  I love Oliver in navy blue and their boys section has plenty of navy in it.  I really like their knitwear, Oliver has a couple of jumpers and cardigans from there.  The hooded bear cardigans are great, they come in so many colours and are so roomy, I know we had the newborn sized one until Oliver was over 3 months old and the 6-12 month ones he’s currently in are really roomy and I can see lasting well past a year.  Their long sleeved vests are brilliant too, I love all their designs and they often have really good witty slogans on.

Tu by Sainsbury’s is one of my go to places for clothing, they’re very reasonably priced and they wear and wash well.  Some of my favourite outfits have been from there.  The best thing is they often do 25% off their collection, meaning you can get a really good deal.

The Little White Company has a gorgeous range, but I generally wait for a sale as I can never justify the full price of their clothes for a little person!  I’m very lucky that my granny always buys Oliver bits from there and he’s had some lovely pyjamas from my mum too.  Their clothes are very generous too, he’s still wearing a 3-6 month jumper at almost 9 months old!

I think you just have to look a bit harder for nice boys bits, and perhaps spend a bit more but when you find somewhere with a good selection you wonder why you worried!

Lovely choices! Weirdly, I always prefer little boys’ clothes to little girls’! I used to work in Next kids department when I was at uni and the clothes were all fabulous! xx

I agree, so often the boys range in shops is so disappointing. We love Boden’s boys range, Zara, and Next can be hit and miss for my taste, but we have some great bits. I loved the Little White Company when Max was little, but I’ve not bought anything from them in ages for some reason (probably the price!) Thanks so much for joining us again at #SharingtheBlogLove

Boden is lovely, I have yet to buy anything for Oliver but I’ve eyed up a fair few bits! I have the same thing with next, it can sometimes be great and sometimes it’s pants. I haven’t tried Zara, every time I’ve been in there it’s all been too cool for a baby!

Gorgeous choices and lovely pictures of your cute boy. I agree with you about refusing to spend too much money on little peeps when you know they’ll grow out of them after literally 2-3 wears. I was drawn to your post as I’m always looking for inspiration for my little boy. He’s 6 months but wearing 9-12 months clothes, so I have loads of stuff he didn’t even manage to wear! We also love Joules but I’ve found some lovely independents that don’t cost the earth too. I also like the MK range of Mothercare at the moment. Always good to compare notes so thanks for sharing #sharingthebloglove

I never really go in mothercare for clothing, I will have to have a look! I try and look around the independents but every time I find something I like it’s like £15 for one item which is madness for the size of it!! Thanks for reading ?

Gorgeous outfits. My friends with boys tell me they have to look a bit harder to find nice boys outfits, something that is a bit different and what their style is. I know I’m lucky having girls there does seem to be more options. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove x

The information you have provided is valuable. I think, buying organic clothes is a smart decision. So be very careful because it is connected to your baby. Organic clothes are always a safer option for kids. Because these clothes are made strictly as per the guidelines & standards, they are 100% safe for skin.
And thanks for sharing your thoughts regarding this important topic. I am waiting for your new post.
